A Sitting of the House of Assembly is scheduled for Tuesday, February 03, 2026 with Papers to be laid by the Honourable Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Justice, National Security, Constituency Development and People Empowerment, the Honourable Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Commerce, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Heritage, the Honourable Senior Minister and Minister for Public Service, Transport, Information and Utilities Regulations and the Honourable Minister for Equity, Labour, Gender and Elderly Affairs, Social Justice and Consumer Welfare.

The Motions for consideration are as follows:

1. BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Assembly by affirmative resolution approves the Value Added Tax (Alteration of Rate of Interest) Order which alters, from 2nd day of May, 2024 to the 1st day of May, 2026, the rate of interest from one point two five per cent to zero per cent on tax payable which is not paid by the date on which it becomes due and payable for the period during which it remains unpaid for the tax periods before and ending on the 31st day of December, 2023.
2. BE IT RESOLVED that Parliament by affirmative resolution approves the draft Value Added Tax (Alteration of Rate of Penalty) Order which alters, from 2nd day of May, 2024 to the 1st day of May, 2026, the rate of penalty from ten per cent to zero per cent on the whole or part of the remainder of tax due or payable under the Act for the tax periods before and ending on the 31st day of December, 2023.
