Pierre was unanimously recommended by the SLP’s six elected members.

Hon. Philip J. Pierre has been recommended by elected members of the Saint Lucia Labor Party (SLP), to become Leader of the Parliamentary Opposition after party leader and former Prime Minister Dr. Kenny Anthony formally resigned as SLP leader.

Pierre was unanimously recommended by the SLP’s six elected members. The Castries East MP is also the first Deputy Political Leader of the Labour Party.

The move paved the way for a National Council of the party to endorse Pierre. A formal letter informing the Governor General has already been dispatched.
